Every Sunday we welcome old and new friends.  Remember to greet everyone with a warm welcome and invite them to join us after church for fellowship. 
                                    FOOD PANTRY SUNDAY
                                               November 1st
Unemployment has gone up and people are in need of food.  Please bring your non-perishables for the food bank.  Bottled water and diapers are also needed.  Please do not bring glass containers.  They are unable to accept these.
                                        PASTOR'S PANTRY
The Pastor's Pantry is in need of canned meat, canned fruit, canned vegetables, can openers, and baby supplies.  Pastor Jim keeps these things in his office for those in need who stop by the church.  Please ask him if there is anything specific he needs.
                                             WESTERFEST
                                        November 1st (Saturday)
Our annual rummage sale will be on November 1st from around 7am until 2pm.  Lots of good bargains, food and fellowship.  COME AND JOIN THE FUN!

This month only the Church Council will meet after worship on the 1st Sunday and we are also scheduled for the 5th Sunday.
There is no Youth Group meeting on the 1st Sunday.
GANG is on hiatus until after the first of the year.


                                 CASTLES AND COASTERS        
                                    November  8th (Saturday)
We are going to the amusement park for a day of fellowship.  The youth along with all adults who would like to go will spend Saturday, November 8th, from noon till around 3:00pm at Castles and Coasters.  The cost is $14.00 and this includes all the rides and a round of goony golf.  We need a head count so please let us know on Sunday, November 1st if you are planning on attending. FUN! FUN! FUN!

                                    STEWARDSHIP SUNDAY
                                                November 9th
On this special Sunday every year everyone is honored with a special gift to thank for stewardship and to look to the future and what we can do.  We begin our financial campaign for 2009, so watch your mail for a letter from the stewardship committee.

                                   VETERAN'S DAY SALAD
                                     LUNCHEON W/CARDS
                                               AND GAMES
                                        November 11th (Tuesday)
Women's Fellowship will host their annual Veteran's Day Salad Luncheon from 10am to 2pm.  The cost is $5.00 per person.  There will be fun had by all with cards, dominoes and games.  Join us and invite your friends!


                                        CHURCH WORK DAY                              
                                      November 15th  (Saturday)
We need all who are able to work and also those who can give encouragement to come to the church on Saturday, November 15th and help the trustees with some jobs around the church.  We will start around 8am.  It is wonderful when we all come together to get the job done.


                                  CHOIR CHRISTMAS MUSIC CD
The Chancel Choir has made a favorite Christmas hymns CD that will be for sale towards the middle of November.  The cost will be $10.00.  Put in your order now!
The choir will also be joining the cast of "Late Nite Catechism - The Christmas Edition" on Saturday, December 20th.  Watch for more information.

                                 NOTES FROM YOUR NURSE
 
This month's topic is FLU SHOTS.  The U.S. Centers for Disease Control recommends a flu vaccination to prevent sickness during flu season, which starts in the fall, peaks in January and February, and can last until May in some areas.  The flu season does not usually start until November, but the time to vaccinate is the month before it hits, which is now.  Influenza outbreaks occur in waves, so even if you don't get a flu shot early in the season, getting a shot in December or January can still provide protection against outbreaks.

 We send out a newsletter monthly with everything going on at the church and much more.  If you would like to receive it please sign in to the guest book and give your address.

 Hours for the Church Office are 9am - 11am on Tues, Thurs, and Fri.  The Office phone number is 602-278-0184.  The Rev. can also be reached at 480-967-9347 at any time. 

Please remember to bring in your donations for the food bank.  People need our help year round.  The Pastor's Pantry needs some restocking also.  Canned meat, Canned fruit, Canned vegtables, can openers, and baby supplies are needed.  Toilet paper and paper towels are also needed by both.

 

 Please remember to use your Fry's and Safeway cards.  If you would like one and don't have one please contact Janet Maxwell. 

 Sign up in the Narthex to be a greeter or usher.  Now is the time to get involved!
